Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas. As I am flying out to Moscow tomorrow afternoon, this will be last update until l'm back early January next year.
We just got some fabulous allocations of Ulysse Collin and Cedric Bouchard back this year. The Ulysse Collin's champagnes in general taste freaking amazing; what took my heart was this incredibly rare Les Enfers cuvée, which Olivier Collin only made for the Quintet case (of which there is a total of 90).
Olivier Collin of Ulysse Collin is one the biggest grower Champagne producers of the region, along with Cedric Bouchard and Chartogne-Taillet. He is a disciple of Anselme Selosse, so for everybody who is craving for "Selosse" style champagnes should definitely give this a try.
The Les Enfers was incredibly fresh, bright but deliciously yeasty and complex — definitely one of the best champagnes I have tasted this year.
Pop a bottle on my behalf and I hope to be back here again very soon. Until then, happy new year!
