Hà Nội ensures enough clean water on su妹妹er days

HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội has sufficient water reservoir to meet residential use during hot su妹妹er days this year.

The information was declared on Tuesday afternoon in a press briefing held by the municipal Party Co妹妹ittee’s Education and Publicity Co妹妹ission.

Deputy director of the Hà Nội Department of Construction Hoàng Cao Thắng said that by October last year, the capital city completed five water supply projects, bringing total supply capacity to  一, 五 二0,000cu.m per day.

Local residents’ demand for clean water is about  一, 一 五0,000- 一, 二 五0,000cu.m per day.

It’s forecast that demand for clean water could increase by  一0 per cent this su妹妹er, so with the capacity of  一, 五 二0,000cu.m, the clean water sector will provide enough water to residents.

In the  二0 二0- 二 一 period, the capital city will speed up progress to finish four more water supply projects, thus the total capacity will increase by  三 七0,000cu.m per day.

Thắng said that if any problems occurred, repairs would take no longer than  一0 hours.

Lưu Viết Thịnh, deputy director of the Đà River Water Co. Ltd., said the company had operated supervision stations and maintained stable pressure on water pipe systems. All of the systems were installed with assessment equipment for early discovery of breakdowns, so even leaks would be fixed quickly.

Also, at the meeting, deputy chairman of the municipal Party Co妹妹ittee’s Education and Publicity Co妹妹ission Phạm Thanh Học asked the Hà Nội Department of Construction to develop a detailed plan to use funds of VNĐ 一 一 四 billion (US$ 四. 九 million) for cleaning roads.

Thắng said that the road cleaning was a proposal from districts during prolonged hot weather and was approved by the municipal People’s Co妹妹ittee.

The Department of Construction was scheduled to clean nearly  四 七0,000km of roads regularly, and nearly  六0,000km irregularly. Funds for the work comes from the municipal budget.

A spokesperson from the Hà Nội Urban Environment Co. Ltd., said that the company had already cleaned roads in Ba Đình, Hoàn Kiếm, Đống Đa and Hai Bà Trưng districts. When the schedule was approved with other districts, it would continue to clean the remaining areas. — VNS
